I don't know that they had a name, or that it was anything more than a few jam sessions- his particular area of interest was the philosophy/aesthetics of improv (so, mainly jazz), and he evidently played with a lot of local musicians in that capacity, but I don't know how serious or regular any of these ensembles/jam sessions actually were. — Seppo
