So the idea is that there's a lot of threads that probably illicit a first association that has nothing to do with the thread, are silly or just plain wrong. I had a few today:

On suicidal thoughts. "Don't have them."

Fuck normal people. "Fuck you too."

    The Anger Thread. "

    Well, you get the idea...

We ought to interpret posts in ways that maximise communication. Nonsensical posts mean or do more than no posts.

"Most people are this kind of garbage. The average person is way worse than me in these regards. Normal people are so wicked, dumb, deceitful, and dangerous."

The "other" really takes a shit kickin' in some of our heads, doesn't it? What an abusive relationship...

Unless the "other" is a bunch of hot girls... oh wait, that still turns abusive due to the objectification involved.

Yeah, but I like the abuse.

Does "Science" refer to anything? Is it useful? Yes and of course.

    Oh, really?
I've said I'm too arrogant to have such thoughts and consider it a proper philosophical response.

    What about:

Stuff you'd like to say but don't since this is a philosophy forum. "Worthless."

"Where's the 'ignore' button?" Every other forum I visit has an ignore button that allows me to tune out certain "people"... it makes it really easy to concentrate.

Elicit is the verb needed here. Illicit is an adjective that means illegal or at least socially disapproved of.

I hope you don't mind this suggestion. Your English is enormously better than my French or German, and I have no Dutch at all, and I would like people to correct me when I get things wrong in those languages.

To me at least, too many discussion titles are like "Is An Oven Useful?", "What's A Hand?", or "Is A Fish A Tree?".

There is a Metallica song called "Frayed Ends of Sanity," and one of the lines goes like this: "TWISTING UNDER SKITZ-OH-FRENYAAA!!"

For some reason, I often say "Sapientia" in my head the same way he says "schizophrenia." SAY-PEA-ENTYAAA!!

Maybe some fun can be had? I liked Pneumenon mention of Sapienta's name for instance. Had me chuckle.

On the previous forum I started a thread for funny nicknames of other members based on their handle. We had fun with that one too. Has nothing to do with philosophy of course, which is why it is in the off-topic section.

Well yes. Just look at all the taxes the little potential person will eventually have to pay, assuming the woman submissively spreads her legs as thinker described.

Yes. That was part of the wisdom of submission he was preaching.
