I'm not sure whether Plotinus was a philosopher or a spiritual follower. Did he practice Eastern philosophy, like meditation, non-duality and silence? Or did he himself formulate his own philosophy?

Interesting slide there, from teacher to follower. That distinction seems fairly clear, although no man is an island, but is influenced by the whole culture; but I'm not sure what the difference is between a philosopher and a spiritual person. Care to elucidate it?

Plotinus defined much of what we now know as philosophy. That his teaching has much in common with Vedanta is because they both arise from the same headwaters, but they are both original and unique.
