The only thing that is natural is our desire to rationalize our flaws. If an individual is raised and surrounded by racist then the perception of 'natural' might be there; but frankly the question itself in this form is highly suspect. Because none say it is "an innate defense mechanism"; that is some racist propaganda if anything.
