Why do we still follow ideals that served a society built thousands of years ago? I haven't involved any cultures in my thinking. And the economic system has nothing to do with culture. It's a global rewarding means. So people still get paid and they can still worship a god named Jesus another called Allah and so on. So culture is also not involved. Therefore no hubris there. Would you say that historical events which lead to the change of status quo were a hubris too? As far as perfecting ourselves goes, we might be able. We are just too far from it (from a neuroscience and technological perspective). Can we perfect the conditions we all live and reboot the whole system? Yes. What prevents it is acceptance that this is the best case scenario.
