    Wtf?
    Get our act together?
    Good day.
    ArguingWAristotleTiff

Yes! Better not actually. Let's just leave things as they are.
  • Christian abolitionism
This got me thinking. Last night I watched a debate featuring Dan Barker (ex-priest, atheist) and he said something interesting: Christians are attributing their goodness to Christian morals when the truth of the matter is the Biblia Sacra records divine commands that don't square with this. For example, homosexuality is condemned in the Bible, but gay rights are most actively advocated in states that are very Christian.

An explanation: Christians aren't true Christians or the better ethics in modern society isn't Christianity-based.

Christian abolitionists? No, can't be, oui?

It's a mathematical operation, actually a pure logic game.

Maybe it's not as easy as we think it is. How can Mrs. Jackson say anything to suggest that Biden was more interested in her vagina and breasts than her brain?

    All of them.EugeneW

Give me a concrete, particular case.
  • Mad Fool Turing Test
Logic is a way of thinking. If A then B, and if C assumed true together with A the C is B if A and C in the same class of truth. Something like that. Its just a train of thoughts running on your neural network. Unprogrammed. But structured by strengthened connections between neurons, which is how memories formEugeneW

Correction: That is how (we think) memories are formed.

Coming to the main issue of whether a human persona can be mimicked, I'd say Turing set the bar low (deliberately so) for (future) AI.

By the way, can you give me one example of a mind process that you believe is not programmable?

    The brain isn't programmed like a computer.EugeneW

I don't quite get the resistance to such a simple and intuitive idea.

Let's meet at the halfway point. Would you agree that one of the things the brain is known for, in fact defines it, namely logic, is programmable (algorithm). Too, isn't it true that AI can recognize patterns? I might've missed a spot or two.

Why all of a sudden is it "Ma'am"?ArguingWAristotleTiff

I have no idea, must be some kinda Freudian defense mechanism.

Anyway, if nonvegetarianism is immoral, then women are immoral (too), oui? Video evidence for reference. The poor chicken is lower on the hackliste, and everyone above it in the food chain is, well, killin' and eatin' it. How could anyone, the fairer sex included, justify a demand for equality under these circumstances? We're always lookin' up, look down for a change if only to not come off as a hypocrite (sorry Neil deGrasse Tyson).

I want women to lead humanity, they're our best bet. First thing that needs to be done is for them to get their act together.

Don't get me wrong and please don't judge me. Given the current parameters of my CPU and the data at my disposal, which I analyzed as best as I could, the output is as you've read in my previous post: women are only less powerful than women, not weak.

I see the general direction you wish to take this discussion, but I feel you should say something...can't find the words. Sorry, you'll have to figure it out yourself. Godspeed!

Just to be clear, altered mental states are, I'm told, considered pathological i.e. they're mental illnesses requiring therapy. Is religion a delusion i.e. is atheism true? In other words, am I right that the variable in question, X = 0?
  • Mad Fool Turing Test
Like a (good) doctor who's all out of options, I recommend a wait & watch policy. Death is a blessing, we don't have to live long enough to eat our own words. Aaah morte! Sweet relief!

The future, if you'll notice, is brimming with possibilities (anicca).

That said, are we not, ourselves, meat machines? Our mechanical creations seem to be made in our image (arms, legs, head, etc.) just like Yahweh made us in his image or so the story goes.

In terms of ‘theism’ I think polytheism makes more sense as people can role play certain things and deal with problems piecemeal rather than try and ‘act out’ being Jesus or some such thing.I like sushi

What's the problem if I act out being Jesus? Actors do that (you mentioned role play). I'm presently trying to simulate Jesus; not really though, more like theia mania (it's part of spirituality, not necessarily religion, and I can see now why "religion fascinates me (you) to no end". Why did you think that was relevant? I was freewheeling, winging it as it were, as there doesn't seem to be a point to the discussion except perhaps the one you had in mind. So, what was on your mind?
